Sustainability, our mission

At Las Musas, we are committed to sustainability in all aspects of our business. This means caring for the environment, being socially responsible to our employees and communities, and working to create a better future for all.

Sustainable Tourism, Our Approach

Sustainable tourism is that which balances the economic, social and environmental impacts of the tourism sector, meeting the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and the host communities.

At Las Musas, we are committed to sustainable tourism. Therefore, we have implemented a series of measures to reduce the negative impacts of our operations and support the sustainable development of the communities where we are present.

These measures are based on three main policies:

1. Continuous improvement and balance between the three pillars of sustainability. We work to improve the positive impacts of our tourism, such as job creation and the promotion of local culture, and reduce negative impacts, such as pollution and the impact on natural resources.

2. Environmental protection. We are committed to preserving biodiversity and preventing pollution of our destinations. To do this, we integrate the landscape into our facilities, respect flora and fauna, and promote responsible waste management.

3. Responsible management. We strive to be a profitable, responsible and innovative company. To do this, we adopt sustainable practices in all areas of our activity, from resource management to our relationship with our employees and suppliers.

Our Sustainability Mission

Environmental

  • Efficiency in the use of natural resources: reduce consumption and waste of natural resources, such as energy, water and materials.
  • Waste reduction: reduce the amount of waste generated, both in production and consumption.
  • Waste management: manage liquid and solid waste properly, to avoid its impact on the environment.
  • Reduction of GHG emissions: reduce greenhouse gas emissions to help combat climate change.
  • We use solar panels to generate clean and renewable electricity. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, a clean and renewable source of energy that does not produce greenhouse gas emissions.

Social

  • Develop a transparent and equitable hiring process. This will help to ensure that all candidates, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to be considered for the position.
  • Offer training and development opportunities to local employees. This will help them develop the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in their careers.
  • Identify the needs of the community. What problems or challenges are community members facing?
  • Identify cultural and historical assets in the region. What sites, artifacts, or traditions are important to the community?
  • Develop a plan to protect these assets. The plan should include measures to conserve, restore, and promote these resources.
